This website gives some of the history of Barraba's special pipe organ.
The organ was made by Thomas S. Jones & Sons, Upper Holloway, London, c.1896
It was installed in the nave (the main body) of the St Laurence's Anglican church in 1919 by John B. Holroyd of Sydney.
The organ was removed to the chancel in 1923. Later it was removed to storage beneath the church in 1959. In 1969 the organ was re-erected in the church by the late William (Bill) Bright of Barraba.
The organ was restored in 1992 by Mark Fisher, Sydney. The Thomas Jones organ has two manuals, 13 speaking stops, three couplers, mechanical and tubular-pneumatic action.
