Today it's a guest post form local artist Annie Clough. Annie is volunteering for Frost, helping out with signage, certificates and exhibition hanging an sitting. Annie is a painter and potter and you can see some of her work here. 
The deadline is nearing, and I'm still painting my entries for the Art Section. I've yet to finish them, framing etc. and until that is accomplished will not decide just which ones I will enter. Also I'm eagerly anticipating this year's Exhibition at it's new home in the Barraba Memorial RSL Hall. An entry into the Pottery section is on the Agenda for me, but yet still do not have a completed pot. I still have 2 weeks, so will keep plugging away until I do. 

Also my best wishes to the Community and Committee for a fantastic Art Festival.

With so much still to do, I am glad that at least I have got the Posters and Flyers finished.

Now all I need to do is get them printed and out there! Well, maybe that is not all that I have to do, but at least I can tick off one job!

Speaking of which, if you have some spare time, in particular from Monday 25 June up to and including the weekend of Frost, and would like to volunteer, send me an email and I will add you to the Volunteer list.

Helpers are needed for all kinds of jobs including driving to collect works from depots in Gunnedah, Armidale and Tamworth, unpacking and cataloging works, hanging works in both the RSL Memorial Hall and the Youth Centre, feeding and watering the volunteers (always appreciated!) and so many other little tasks that become easier with more hands!

The frosts have started in Barraba. Locals say they always start around Anzac Day. 
Preparation for this year's Arts Festival continue apace. This week, volunteers are busy organising tickets for Preview Night, working on the design for the hanging partitions, getting out media releases and getting final details from all the guest artists and judges. Entries are slowly begining to trickle in. Experienced campaigner Margaret Harris assures us that this is quite normal, entries will flood in at the last minute, as always.
Preview Night is all organised, with Kevin Anderson coming to open the Festival, and the announcement of the major aquisitive prize of $2000, generously donated by New England Mutual.
